PRECISION TOLERANCE LIMITS
Beyond Global Standards: Vina Rubber’s Micro-Precision Limits.

A definitive guide for engineers to balance design ambition with high-volume manufacturability. Our limits are defined by empirical data and validated through Tier-1 quality control protocols.

Engineering Insights: Navigating Our Capability Matrix
This matrix is designed as a primary reference for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) processes. When reviewing these limits, please consider the following engineering principles that allow Vina Rubber to exceed industry benchmarks:
1. The Relationship Between Thickness & Precision
In elastomer molding, the “flow-to-thickness” ratio is critical.
- Silicone (VMQ): Due to its low viscosity and high flowability, we can achieve ultra-thin walls of 0.20 mm while maintaining a stable ±0.03 mm tolerance. This is our flagship capability for micro-membranes and precision seals.
- NBR & EPDM: These materials have higher viscosity. To ensure structural integrity and consistent cross-linking, we recommend a minimum wall thickness of 1.00 mm, which allows us to hold a tight ±0.10 mm tolerance.
2. Benchmarking Against Global Standards
Standard industrial rubber parts often follow RMA Class A3 (Commercial) or ISO 3302-1 Class M2. Our dedicated micro-molding line is calibrated to:
- Exceed RMA Class A1: The highest precision category in the USA.
- Surpass ISO 3302-1 Class M1: While M1 allows up to ±0.10 mm for small dimensions, Vina Rubber’s proprietary vacuum-compression tech narrows this window down to ±0.03 mm.
3. Measurement Integrity (Multi-Tool Validation)
Precision is only as good as the ability to measure it. Every “Vina Rubber Precision” value in the table is strictly validated using a combination of advanced metrology tools:
Advanced Resolution: Data is captured at sub-micron levels, ensuring that the ±0.03 mm limit is a statistical reality, validated across every production batch, not just a theoretical claim.
Non-contact Video Measuring Systems (VMS): Our primary tool for micro-geometries. It prevents material deformation during inspection—a critical factor for soft elastomers where physical contact can lead to false readings.
Specialized Inspection Tooling: We utilize digital durometers, high-precision thickness gauges, and custom-engineered jigs to verify functional dimensions under simulated assembly conditions.
